The Danish architect and designer Verner Panton (13 February 1926 – 5 September 1998) is among the most influential 20th-century designers. During his career, he worked in the fields of interior, lighting, industrial, furniture, and textile design. His most iconic designs include the Cone Chair and Panton Chair. His interiors synthesized elements from all areas of his work often featuring bold colors and playful geometries- invocative of innovative and futuristic design aesthetics. Significant examples of his interior design include the Spiegel Publishing House in Hamburg (1968), the Visiona Exhibitions in Cologne (1968 and 1970). Some of Verner Panton’s work, such as the Panton Chair or the Panthella Lamp, have been in production without interruption for decades; while, other designs have returned to production in recent years.
