Regarding your change with the comment “Varietal is the adjective, variety the noun, fixing the grammar” — have a look at this definition. Seeing as it's not incorrect, it's shorter than “varietal wine,” and it's more specific than “variety” by itself, I much prefer varietal as a noun. It's also nice to have a one-word translation of fr:Cépage. Nathan 08:09, 26 May 2004 (UTC)
