This category should be used for Americans who are notable only or primarily for their work as a theatre actor. If an American actor is notable for more than just theatre acting, then a stub article about them should use ((US-actor-stub)) instead.

The perfect article about an actor gives both a (possibly short) biography and a list of performances. Also, appropriate categories should be added, especially Category:American stage actors and Category:American musical theatre actors.
