Chuchkovsky District

Chuchkovsky District (Russian: Чу́чковский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the eastern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 896 square kilometers (346 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Chuchkovo.[2] Population: 8,700 (2010 Census);[4] 11,244 (2002 Census);[9] 12,294 (1989 Soviet census).[10] The population of Chuchkovo accounts for 35.9% of the district's total population.[4]
