Fig. 9 for article "Egypt". Image of part of the king list at Abydos, created during the reign of Seti I. Depicted are Seti I, and his son Ramesses II; the hairstyle of the son is a signifier of his princedom. The son holds censers, and he and his father are on the way to make offerings to Ptah-Seker-Osiris (an amalgam of Ptah, Seker, and Osiris), on behalf of his 72 ancestors - which are then listed in cartouches. On this image, the cartouches depict, from left to right:
