Deutsch: Der Stierkopf steht für die Herrschaft und das spätere Herzogtum Mecklenburg, während der auf der anderen Hälfte des Wappens abgebildete Bischofsstab (Krummstab) die einst zum Hochstift Ratzeburg zählenden Gebiete symbolisiert. Die Historie der Hansestadt Wismar wird durch den dreifach geteilten Hintergrund des Bischofsstabs in den Farben Silber und Rot verdeutlicht. Ursprünglich war dies im Mittelalter die Seeflagge der Wismarer Schiffe. |
