Follows and Bate Ltd were a manufacturer of horticultural and domestic machinery and had works on Froxmer Street, Gorton, Manchester, England and Dutton Street, Strangeways, Manchester, England. They were founded by Frederick Follows around 1867/1868.
The design of this marmalade cutter was originally believed to be patented by J S Fleming and the patent was taken over in 1939 after Follows and Bate were purchased by Qualcast in 1938.
