English: Posthumous portrait of Joanna of Austria, Grand Duchess of Tuscany (1547-1578), and her son Philip de' Medici (1577-1582).
Italiano: "Il ritratto raffigurante Giovanna d'Austria (1548-1578) e don Filippino de' Medici (1577-1582), fa parte della "serie dei serenissimi principi", o "serie aulica" di ritratti ufficiali dei membri più eminenti della famiglia Medici, composta oggi di 41 dipinti (inv. 1890, nn. fra 2216 e 2257; 5232; 5240; da 9160 a 9163). Pagato al Bizzelli 36 scudi (di 40 richiesti) il 26 luglio1586: è un ritratto postumo ("ambi di felice memoria") che non sembra avere una fonte iconografica precisa, ma esser stato composto proprio dal Bizzelli. Fu nel corridoio di levante fino al 1780, poi nel tratto lungarno del corridoio vasariano, dal 1925 al 1971 nel Museo Mediceo e dal 1975 nel Museo degli Argenti" [1] |
