Summary
DescriptionGolders Green Hippodrome - geograph.org.uk - 676182.jpg |
English: Golders Green Hippodrome Opened in 1913, this old music hall, then theatre, has had an illustrious history as venue for many famous plays (pre and post their London tours), BBC concerts and shows, boxing, filming, opera, rock music and so on. When the BBC vacated it in 2003 its condition deteriorated and it was considered 'at risk'. Hopes that it might once again become an entertainment centre were dashed when it was acquired by the El-Shaddai evangelical Christians for 5 million pounds.
