Norsk bokmål: Trøndelag fylkesvåpen
Våpenet beskrives slik: «På sølv bunn et gull utbøyet kors». Nord-Trøndelag fylkes våpen ble tegnet av førstekonservator Hallvard Tretteberg ved Riksarkivet. Fylkestinget vedtok våpenet 13.juni 1956 og godkjente det 8.mars 1957. Fra 1. januar 2018 blir våpenet brukt av Trøndelag fylke. Våpenet skal minne om Olav den Hellige. Etter sagatradisjonen hadde han gullkors på hvitt skjold under slaget på Stiklestad i år 1030, eller som det står i «Heims-kringla». «Et hvitt skjold hvorpå det hellige kors var lagt med gull». |
