Ibresinsky District (Russian: Ибре́синский райо́н; Chuvash: Йĕпреç районӗ, Yĕpreś rayonĕ) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-one in the Chuvash Republic, Russia. It is located in the southern central part of the republic and borders with Vurnarsky and Kanashsky Districts in the north, Komsomolsky District in the east, Batyrevsky and Alatyrsky Districts in the south, and with Shumerlinsky and Poretsky Districts in the west. The area of the district is 1,201.2 square kilometers (463.8 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Ibresi.[1] Population: 26,192 (2010 Russian census);[3] 28,377 (2002 Census);[8] 28,471 (1989 Soviet census).[9]
