Putyatinsky District

Putyatinsky District (Russian: Путя́тинский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in Ryazan Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeastern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,008 square kilometers (389 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Putyatino.[2] Population: 7,511 (2010 Census);[3] 8,745 (2002 Census);[7] 10,398 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Putyatino accounts for 40.6% of the district's total population.[3]
