Shebbear (/ˈʃɛbɪər/; SHEB-eer) is a village and civil parish in the Torridge district in Devon, England. It was once itself centre of Shebbear Hundred. An electoral ward exists titled Shebbear and Langtree. The 2021 census population was 1,021.[1] The village shares its name with the Shebbeare family, who owned land in the area, and of which 18th century political satirist John Shebbeare was a member.
