Suchań is positioned on the Reczek river, a tributary of the Ina which in turn feeds into the River Oder. The Polish National road 10 (DK 10) connecting Szczecin with Bydgoszcz and Toruń passes through the town. Stargard is the next substantial town, located along this road 21 km (13.05 mi) (13 miles) to the west.
The town's main historic landmarks are the Gothic church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the old watermill.
