Mahavishnu Orchestra

La Mahavishnu Orchestra fue un grupo estadounidense instrumental pionero en la fusión entre el Rock y el Jazz, mezclando subgéneros de ambos como el Thrid stream y el Free-jazz con Rock progresivo y sinfónico, además también le añadían elementos de subgéneros del Blues como el Boogie-woogie o el Rythm & blues. Se fundaron en 1969 bajo el nombre de Shiva hasta 1971 que cambiaron su nombre al cual con él se les conoce. Estuvieron activos entre 1969 y 1976, reuniéndose de nuevo brevemente de 1984 a 1987.
