De UEFA Intertoto Cup wordt vaak afgekort tot Intertoto Cup of Intertoto, IC, UIC of UI. Het is sinds 1995 een kans voor clubs die zich via hun nationale competitie niet hebben geplaatst voor de UEFA Cup of Champions League om zich alsnog te plaatsen voor de UEFA Cup.
