English: 79 Norwegians are serving in the Norwegian Army Surgical Hospital, a complete mobile unit that provides emergency surgery and other medical treatment for combat soldiers of 17 nations fighting with UN forces. The unit, consisting of a series of tents connected by canvas passageways, can be moved easily near the fighting front to facilitate prompt treatment of the wounded. Colonel Herman Ramstad, of Oslo, commands the unit, and Colonel Arne Hvoslef, of Oslo, is the chief medical officer. Captain Petra Drabloe (left), of Halesund, is shown with a patient, Lance Cpl. M.R. Stevens of North Bay, Ontario, Canada. Captain Drabloe served for two years with Norwegian Red Cross at Oslo. Stevens fought for five months in Korea before he was injured by a gasoline explosion.
