Lance Corporal Seth Stanton of Camerio, CA and Private Nathan Riehly of Alegheny, NY, from the 3rd Recon Battalion 23 Weapons Company Scout Sniper (SS) Platoon utilize their "Gillie Suits" while lying in wait for the enemy during exercise RIMPAC 2000. The terms "Gillie-up" or "Gillie Suit" come from Scotland. Scottish gamekeepers or "Gillies" wore clothing sown together with local foliage. These were used when trying to locate poachers.
