Kermanshah (Persian: کرمانشاه; [keɾmɒːnˈʃɒː] ⓘ)[lower-alpha 1] is a city in the Central District of Kermanshah province, Iran, serving as capital of the province, the county, and the district.[5] The city is 525 kilometres (326 miles) from Tehran in the western part of the country. The 2016 National Census measured the population of the city as 946,651[2] (2021 estimate 1,047,000).[6]
