Patrick McCartan (13 May 1878 – 28 March 1963)[1] was an Irish republican and politician.[2] He served the First Dáil (1919–1921) on diplomatic missions to the United States and Soviet Russia. He returned to public life in 1948, serving in Seanad Éireann for Clann na Poblachta. McCartan was also a doctor.
