Yibal is the largest oilfield in Oman, located in the Ad Dhahirah Governorate, about 360km southwest of Muscat. It began production in 1968,[1] and at its peak had a production of nearly 250,000 barrels per day (40,000 m3/d). In recent years, it has begun to decline, and in 2005 produces about 88,000 barrels per day (14,000 m3/d). The Yibal oil field is operated primarily by Petroleum Development Oman.
