The 2023–24 season is Chelsea Football Club's 118th year in existence and 35th consecutive season in the top flight of English football. In addition to the domestic league, Chelsea participated in this season's editions of the FA Cup and EFL Cup; they are not participating in any UEFA competition for the first time since the 2016–17 season, having finished in 12th position in the previous campaign.

Former Chelsea captain César Azpilicueta left the club after eleven consecutive seasons after agreed to join Atlético Madrid in La Liga at the end of his contract. Reece James replaced him to lead the club before the new season opened in July.
