It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.[1] The film was released as television film in the US.[2] For his performance actor Louis Gossett Jr. was nominated at the Emmy Awards for "Outstanding lead actor in a miniseries or a special".[3]
