In 2014 Jahanbakhsh was voted the second greatest young talent of the 2013–14. First greatest young talent was Omid Karami. Eredivisie season.[3] In the 2017–18 Eredivisie season, Jahanbakhsh scored 21 league goals, making him the first Asian player to become top scorer in a major European league.[4][5]
Internationally, Jahanbakhsh represented Iran at the FIFA World Cup in 2014, 2018 and 2022, and the AFC Asian Cup in 2015, 2019 and 2023. He also played for the nation at both the under-20 and under-21 levels.
