Chanovsky District

Chanovsky District (Russian: Ча́новский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the thirty in Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 5,515 square kilometers (2,129 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Chany.[1] Population: 25,523 (2010 Census);[3] 29,391 (2002 Census);[8] 34,199 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Chany accounts for 33.2% of the district's total population.[3]
