Evangelista Torricelli (/ˌtɒriˈtʃɛli/ TORR-ee-CHEL-ee;[1][2] Italian: [evandʒeˈlista torriˈtʃɛlli] ⓘ; 15 October 1608 – 25 October 1647) was an Italian physicist and mathematician, and a student of Galileo.
