Washam was born in Auburn, Washington.[1][2] She played college golf and basketball at Washington State University,[2] where she also joined the women's fraternity Alpha Gamma Delta.[3] She was elected to the Washington State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1982.[4]
Washam won three times on the LPGA Tour[5] between 1975 and 1979.[6]
Washam died on December 6, 2019.[7]
