Segodunum

Segodūnum is an old Celtic place name derived from Proto-Celtic *sego-dūno-, meaning "strong fortress".[1][2][3]
It can refer to the following locations:
- Rodez, Aveyron, former town of the Ruteni in Aquitania[1]
- Segedunum, Wallsend, England.[1]
- Suin, Saône-et-Loire[1]
- Syon Haute-Savoie[1]
- Würzburg, Bavaria[1]
It may have Germanic counterparts in Swedish Fornsigtuna and Sigtuna, from Proto-Germanic *siga-tūna-, Old Norse Sigtún.[1][2]
