Welcome to Wikipedia!!! First of all, I would like to thank you for visiting Wikipedia and my personal page. I'm a native speaker of English, and love reading fantasy books; may I introduce some to you? The Dragonlance series, Shannara series, and Animorphs are my favourites. Anyway, I hope that Wikipedia will become an even better encyclopedia than it is already.
I just came back from a very long Wikibreak; so I just want to let you Wikipedians know that somewhere out there, I'm still alive. That means you're free to ask me any questions, or contact me about anything (and everything). I'm still open for coaching, so send me a message if you need a coach. If you want someone else for whatever reason, look here. I'm only free on weekends though, so I won't be able to respond to your messages that quickly. And my autograph page is still up and running, so don't hesitate to add your siggie in there! And I have a couple (only a couple, I'm afraid...I'm too lazy to make more =)) of cards that I've made featured here; take a look! Well, that's all I guess. Cheers and a happy new year to you! Edit: I am no longer active on Wikipedia (as a User, at least) so I'm afraid I can't answer questions from anyone - I suggest that you try looking for an active User around the site if you really need help. When all else fails, moderators, admins, even the Community Portal on your left will work. See you around!
Viviparus georgianus, commonly known as the banded mystery snail, is a species of large freshwater snail in the family Viviparidae, the river snails. It is native to North America, generally found from the northeastern United States to Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, and thrives in eutrophic lentic environments such as lakes, ponds and some low-flow streams. The snail has two distinct sexes and reproduces more than once in a lifetime, with females laying eggs singly in albumen-filled capsules. It feeds on diatom clusters found on silt and mud substrates, but it may also require the ingestion of some grit to be able to break down algae. This image shows five views of a 2.1cm high (0.83in) V.georgianusshell, originally collected in the U.S. state of Georgia and now in the collection of the State Museum of Natural History Karlsruhe in Germany.Photograph credit: H.Zell
The Wikipedia community decides whether articles meet certain criteria to be selected as Featured articles, representing the best that Wikipedia has to offer. A different featured article is chosen to appear on the Main Page every day. Any user can nominate an article as a Featured article candidate, or comment on any of the existing candidate articles.
Sometimes you may be editing an article and want to link a plural to its singular form. For example, to link "Fred Foo was famous for his study of puddles" to puddle, you could link it like so: puddles. However, you can save time instead by writing puddles.
This also works with adjectives (for example, Japanese), regular verbs in present or past tense (for example, dances or danced) and any other suffixes or prefixes.
However, this method does not work with spelling changes, for example: tryied does not work; you have to enter tried. It also does not work with possessives, so you may want to use Fred Foo's to get Fred Foo's. Using Fred Foo's will look like Fred Foo's, i.e. the possessive suffix unlinked, in plain text, and black instead of blue.
Note: if a redirect exists from puddles to puddle you don't actually need to do any piping, it's fine to link puddles too.
