Notre Dame is a census-designated place[4] north of the city of South Bend in St. Joseph County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. Three universities are within Notre Dame: the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College, and Holy Cross College. Part of Notre Dame is in Clay Township and the other part is in Portage Township. As of the 2020 census, its population was 6,342.[3]
